A.R. Robertson, Boston Mass Bill Poster's Hammer. Patented in the 1880's for posting hand bills or signs out of reach of those who would remove them. Marked on the head and on clip "A.R. Robertson Boston Mass". Place a tack in the upper clip with the tack head toward the hammer head then insert the lower edge of a bill to be posted in the lower clip and push the bill through the tack. With the bill in place on the side of the hammer reach up and start the tack firmly. Pull downward leaving the bill and its tack above. Then turn the hammer around and finished driving the tack with the hammer head. The handle attachment that extends the handle to 36" is missing.
