Carcase Saws

Carcase saws are backsaws that typically have a blade that is 10" to 14" in length and a tooth count of 12 to 14 points per inch filed for crosscutting. The depth of the blade is 3" to 4". Carcase saws are used for large variety of cutting tasks, and are therefore a tool that every woodworkers should have in their workshop. They can be used for sawing tenon cheeks if filed for rip cuts.
