About Disston

Henry Disston founded the company in Philadelphia in 1840, and by the late 1800s Disston was the largest saw maker in the world. Disston saws were the standard against which every other maker was measured for nearly a century. The D-8 was Disston's professional-grade hand saw — priced and built for working carpenters and cabinet makers who used them every day, rather than the more decorative display models.

Who this saw is for

A woodworker who wants a full-length crosscut saw for everyday work, and is fine with a working tool that shows it's been used rather than a shelf piece.
